**What we are looking for**:
**Analytical Experience**:
- Knowledge and experience of general laboratory work and analytical chemistry
- A knowledge of instrumentation, including, but not limited to; Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry will be an advantage.
- Proven ability in routine analysis and method development.
- Flexibility to operate and maintain a diverse range of analytical equipment.
- Knowledge of NATA/ISO accreditation and certification.
**Team Participation and Self-Management**:
- Proven ability to actively participate in a multidisciplinary team providing support to the Organic Chemistry team.
- Demonstrate competent knowledge and skill to provide information to colleagues and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with high level interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritise and coordinate work effectively.
- Enthusiasm for personal professional development in continuing education and skills-based training.
**Mandatory qualifications, licences and other requirements**:
- Appointment to this position requires a minimum mandatory possession of an Associate Diploma in Science with a major emphasis in Chemistry from a recognised university or tertiary institution or equivalent as determined by the Deputy Director-General or delegate.
- The applicant's qualification and Academic Record must be supplied so that an assessment can be made of the technical content of the qualification. Failure to do so will result in you being assessed as not meeting the mandatory requirements for the position.
- In some circumstances and following consultation, Queensland Health staff may be required to participate in 24-hour shift, on-call or weekend roster arrangements including chemical emergency response.
