P.E. Foods is a proudly family owned food distribution company supplying bakeries, food manufacturers, cafés and foodservice businesses across Queensland and Northern NSW.
With depots in Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns and Northern NSW, we distribute a broad range of bakery ingredients, specialty foods and foodservice products from leading Australian and international suppliers.
We are currently entering an exciting new phase of growth, including the development of a new purpose-built distribution centre at Archerfield Airport.
To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Head of Procurement to lead our sourcing, supplier relationships and commercial purchasing strategy.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Procurement will play a critical role in ensuring P.E. Foods maintains a competitive supply chain while continuing to expand its supplier network locally and internationally.
Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing procurement strategy across the business
* Managing supplier relationships both domestically and internationally
* Negotiating pricing, contracts and supply agreements
* Identifying new supplier opportunities and sourcing new product ranges
* Managing cost control and margin optimisation across the product portfolio
* Working closely with sales, operations and finance teams to align purchasing with demand
* Managing procurement risk including supply disruptions, price volatility and quality standards
* Leading procurement processes for new product introductions
* Monitoring global commodity markets and industry trends
About You
We are looking for someone who combines commercial acumen, strategic thinking and strong supplier management skills.
Qualifications
* Significant procurement or sourcing experience within food manufacturing, food distribution or FMCG
* Strong negotiation and supplier management experience
* Experience sourcing both locally and internationally
* A commercial mindset with the ability to manage margins and cost structures
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Experience managing supply chain risks and supplier performance
* Excellent relationship building and communication skills
* Leadership capability and the ability to influence across departments
Experience with ingredient procurement, commodity markets or foodservice distribution will be highly regarded.
