We are seeking a qualified, part-time Accountant (3 days per week) to support the effective financial management of the College and its subsidiary organisations. This role is integral in ensuring that financial, human, and physical resources are accurately managed, reconciled, and reported in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and organisational requirements.
As a member of the Genesis Christian College team, you will contribute to an exceptional learning environment that reflects the strong values and mission of an independent Christian school.
You will be responsible for:
* Developing and maintaining Accounting Policies and Procedures
* Ensuring best practice accounting and control over all income received and expenditure in the College, Business Units and Little Genesis
* Managing accounts and performing monthly reconciliations and other related accounting tasks, including highlighting any issues or variances requiring attention and preparing BAS returns
* Ensuring accurate financial records are kept with all aspects and types of funding and plan accordingly, and monitor cash flow position
* Assist with the maintenance of the asset register for the College and Little Genesis
* Assist in ensuring the timely and accurate payment of salaries, Pay As You Go (PAYG) and Superannuation, and maintain accurate staff payroll records, including annual leave, sick leave and long service leave
* Process fortnightly payroll, maintain complete and accurate payroll data and ensuring compliance with payroll policies and procedures
* Payroll end of year processes
To be successful, you will have:
* Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant is advantageous
* Advanced Excel skills and experience in operating and maintaining computerised accounting systems and procedures
* High level administration skills and attention to detail
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
* High levelof discretion, loyalty and commitment to maintain utmost confidentiality and maintain privacyrequirements.
* Current Blue Card
* An active Christian faith and strong Christian character
