Role Description
This is a full-time on-site teaching role based in Hobart, Launceston or Sydney, TAS. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, developing and refining curriculum materials, and supporting diverse learning needs. As a key member of the academic team, the incumbent will foster meaningful interactions with students, contribute to the broader university community, and participate in research or professional development activities to enhance educational outcomes.
What you will do
* Deliver high-quality Police Studies education that supports strong student engagement and prepares graduates for contemporary policing and public safety roles.
* Contribute to the design and renewal of practice-informed curriculum that reflects current policing practice, policy, and emerging issues in law enforcement and community safety.
* Support and mentor colleagues in effective teaching practice, curriculum development, and the adoption of new learning technologies.
* Contribute to the University's strategic and operational objectives through active engagement in teaching, governance, and service within the school.
* Coordinate and deliver scholarly coursework units of a high standard, including development of teaching materials, delivery of classes (online and face-to-face), and assessment of student learning.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design effective and engaging learning materials.
* Exceptional Communication and Teaching skills to support diverse student needs and ensure successful delivery of content.
* A strong background in tertiary education, including relevant teaching qualifications and/or professional experience in the education sector.
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to a range of learning styles and cultural diversities.
* Experience in student mentorship and academic guidance is beneficial.
* Background in Law, applied ethics, psychology or Cyber Crime/Security
