As one of Tasmania's largest not-for-profit disability service and training organisations, we provide services across North and North-West Tasmania. We have more than 55 years of experience and expertise in the disability service industry.
A registered NDIS provider, we employ approximately 220 staff across Tasmania and provide empowering, personalised services to over 500 people with disability, their families, and carers each year.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Team Coordinator.
About the Role
Reporting to our Devonport Centre Manager, the role will provide strong leadership through the mentoring and coaching of our Disability Support Workers across our Day Program, as well as the provision of high quality and active support to our participants.
This is a permanent full-time role and includes participation in a rotational on-call (after hours) roster.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must have strong leadership skills, be committed, motivated and reliable, maintain a sense of positivity, enjoy challenges, have good problem-solving skills, promote strong team culture and show respect for people's individual choices and decisions.
You will be able to clearly demonstrate the following:
* A leader with a proven track record in the delivery of exceptional support to a variety of participants with special needs and their families.
* Previous demonstrated experience managing and supporting Participants with complex behaviours and mental health concerns as well as with the implementation of behaviour support strategies.
* Previous demonstrated experience developing client profiles, strategies and scheduled activities in conjunction with the Centre Manager.
* Demonstrated empathy and ability to work with people with physical, intellectual or learning difficulties.
* Effective interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to effectively use IT systems and applications.
* An ability to coordinate, schedule and maintain effective staff rosters, meetings, events and appointments.
* Ability to prioritise and manage variable workloads on a daily basis.
* Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) and/or Certificate IV Disability – or working towards
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Current unrestricted Tasmanian Drivers Licence.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Card (or ability to obtain).
* Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
* Medication Endorsement.
* Covid vaccination (including booster)
