The Role
Located in the heart of Katherine, NT, Discovery Parks – Lansdowne is a large, high‑energy Workstay Village supporting a consistent, year‑round workforce. This role requires a capable, hands‑on Chef who can take ownership of the kitchen operation, deliver high‑quality meals at scale and maintain strong standards across food safety, costs and team performance.
This is a practical, operational role suited to a chef who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys planning ahead and takes pride in running an efficient, well‑organised commercial kitchen.
With high guest volumes and multiple services each day, this role suits someone who is confident managing workflow, dietary requirements and staff, while consistently delivering nutritious, well‑presented meals.
As the Chef, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation of a commercial kitchen.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage the day‑to‑day operation of a busy commercial kitchen
* Prepare, cook and present high‑quality meals for large numbers of guests
* Plan menus that balance quality, nutrition and cost efficiency
* Manage stock ordering, rotation, stocktakes and food costs
* Ensure strict adherence to HSE, HACCP and food safety standards
* Cater to dietary requirements, allergies and special requests
* Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised kitchen environment
* Lead, train and support kitchen team members
* Deliver fast, efficient service with a positive, guest‑focused approach
What You’ll Need
* Previous experience as a Chef in a similar high‑volume or remote environment
* Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
* Strong experience with menu planning, purchasing and cost control
* Experience using electronic ordering systems
* HACCP experience essential, with a strong focus on food hygiene
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Strong organisation and forward‑planning skills
* Current driver’s licence
* First Aid certification (highly desirable)

This role may require heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery
