About the location: Located in the picturesque Upper Hunter region—renowned for its wilderness areas, wineries, horse studs, historic homesteads, and warm country hospitality—this Physiotherapy position is an opportunity within the Hunter Valley Community Health Transitional Aged Care (TACP) team at Muswellbrook Hospital. As the sole TACP Physiotherapist based at Muswellbrook, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team on site and connected to a broader network of TACP Physiotherapists in Singleton and Kurri Kurri, fostering collaboration across the region.
Role and responsibilities
- Deliver physiotherapy services to community clients enrolled in the Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP).
- Provide client-centred, goal-based physiotherapy within a community setting to eligible patients.
- Manage a diverse caseload including orthopaedic conditions, falls prevention, geriatric neurological issues, respiratory care, and patients recently discharged from long hospital stays.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop realistic, goal-focused treatment plans aimed at promoting independence and improving quality of life.
- Work as the sole physiotherapist on site while contributing to the Muswellbrook TACP multidisciplinary team and coordinating with physiotherapy teams in Kurri Kurri and Singleton for clinical support.
Your role within the team
- Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and interventions for aged care clients in a community setting.
- Develop and implement realistic, goal-oriented treatment plans to promote patient independence and well-being.
- Engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Apply strong clinical reasoning and therapeutic skills to manage a diverse range of complex presentations, with ongoing professional development supported by mentors and colleagues.
Qualifications and requirements
- Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
- Eligibility to drive in NSW

- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies.
