The opportunity
Geologist -Project Generation
will play an integral role to provide technical support to early‑stage exploration through mapping, identifying, sampling and target generation and refinement. This will be a hands‑on position in mapping, exploring and developing new and existing critical minerals projects.
This position will be a 6 -month casual contract, reporting directly to the Principal Generative Geologist. This is a blended roster with primarily field time on an 8/6 roster and sometime in the corporate office for coordination and interpretation.
Your primary responsibilities:
* Internal and external work program approvals.
* Interrogation of geological data to identify exploration opportunities.
* Assist in the design and execution of exploration mapping, sampling and drilling programs, including in remote locations
* Accurate capture and validation of field observations and interpretations into mapping system.
* Integration of multiple datasets into interpretations.
* Ongoing interpretation of geological models and maps based on geological observations.
* Occasionally drill rig supervision- geological logging; geological interpretation; ensure sampling quality is maintained.
* Ensuring safety standards are maintained.
What is required?
* Tertiary level education in Geology
* Experience in the mining and exploration industry, lithium experience is highly desirable
* Previous experience with field mapping, sampling collection, and exploration process
* Previous experience working in remote exploration sites and near mine environments
* Experience with using 3D mining software and Arc GIS or similar
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
* Well-developed communication skills—both oral and written
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
* Meet deadlines and manage priorities to meet deadlines
* Attention to detail and report writing skills
* Current WA C-Class manual drivers' licence, with ability to safely operate a 4WD or 4WD qualification.
* Current senior first aid skills.
