Position Information Glenwood High School is a 7 - 12 comprehensive, coeducational high school with an enrollment of just over 1550 students including 63% from a non-English speaking background. Glenwood High School has a Support Unit of 30 students. Established in 2005, the school is a public private partnership with excellent resources and facilities. The school features 48 new flexible learning spaces as a result of a recent school upgraded. These learning environments offer teachers flexibility in teaching methods and provide a variety of opportunities to enhance student collaboration, communication and engagement. The school is driven by a strong tradition of excellence, achieved in an innovative, progressive, and highly structured teaching and learning environment. The school offers a broad curriculum catering for a diverse group of learners with a focus on quality teaching, student engagement, restorative practices and innovative student welfare and leadership within an environment where technology is embedded. Glenwood High School is defined by high expectations of all students in all areas of their life including their conduct, achievements inside and outside the classroom as well as future aspirations. Student leadership is a driving force, and the wider student body has a clear voice through the prefect body, House Captains, SRC, Student Advocacy Team and their student leaders. The school enjoys strong parental and community support and has positive links with partner primary schools. Selection Criteria Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and Industrial Technology - Timber Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver lessons that support and extend all learners, including those with high potential, through practical and achievable differentiation strategies. Proven capacity to create engaging learning environments that support student success in both theory and practical lessons. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively and collaboratively within the TAS faculty and contribute to whole-school programs. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. This advertisement qualifies for permanent part-time employment; therefore, applicants seeking either permanent full-time or permanent part-time work are encouraged to apply.
