As the Children's Counsellor you will work with children and young people, and their mothers to support them to recover from domestic and family violence trauma whilst working within an attachment person centred based framework.

Role location: Jimboomba– our Jimboomba office is only 40 minutes from Logan and Springfield and a one-hour drive from the Gold Coast
Role type: Maximum Term until 30/6/2026, full time
Pay range:$101,106 a year based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
In this role you will:
Work with children, young people and their mothers in their journey of healing and recovery from domestic and family violence trauma.
Provide trauma-informed counselling to strengthen the relationships and attachments between children, young people and their mothers and siblings.
Provide information and facilitate access to relevant services to address health, parenting, financial, employment support, legal, and other counselling needs.

* Bring experience in a similar role and have experience in counselling and case management with at risk or vulnerable children, a domestic and family violence framework underpinned by a gendered perspective of violence, application of the common risk and safety framework and information sharing guidelines.

* You are resilient, flexible, value collaboration, bring humour, innovation, and have cultural awareness.
