About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated professional to assist in the efficient and continuous operation and maintenance of Council’s wastewater treatment plants, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality effluent that meets all environmental and health standards. In this role, you will maintain accurate plant records to comply with international quality assurance systems and legislative requirements, support sampling and analysis of processes to optimize performance, and prepare operational and compliance reports.
You’ll contribute to creative, high-quality service delivery while upholding principles of excellence in environmental performance and ISO accreditation. Strong technical communication skills are essential, as you will liaise effectively with operators, supervisors, consultants, and contractors. About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Forklift certificate of competency (desirable)
- Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)
- Trade certificate within the electrical or mechanical field (desirable)
- Manual handling, laboratory and field-testing skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and also independently, including the ability to operate a wastewater treatment plant for short periods without operator intervention
- Ability to read and understand basic mechanical and civil engineering drawings
- Ability to understand and operate treatment plant control (SCADA) Systems
- Knowledge of the operation, maintenance and monitoring of biological wastewater treatment plants including waste activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, membrane or attached film treatment
- Demonstrated experience of at least 12 months duration in municipal wastewater, mining or other process industry requiring the operation of plant and equipment
