As part of these efforts, we are launching a major Store Renewal initiative aimed at creating a blueprint for the future of Myer Myer is now seeking a Store Design Manager to Lead the Design direction for Myer to deliver world-class retail design concepts and solutions into Myer stores enhancing the customer’s experience, whist continuing to innovate and improve cost and design process efficiencies. About the role: Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of design briefs along with cost efficiency levers with a key focus to value engineer and simplify current processes. Manage the production of Myer owned concepts, presentation sketches & relevant technical documentation, specifications, details and finishes in preparation for project approval Be the custodian of the development and evolution of design requirements for each tier of stores (Flagship, Full Renewal, Light Renewal and Basic Renewal) Manage internal/external stakeholders and consultants, shopfitters and contractors to ensure all design are in line with Myer strategy and project outcomes are achieved. Oversee all detailed design documentation required to service the assigned project/s and enable procurement, construction/project management teams to carry out its tender and construction activities. Identify design planning solutions to align with project budgets. Lead the team to ensure follow through for each project, ensuring design detailing is executed through the construction phases from prototyping, through to completion of the site works and defects identification and resolution About you: Sound experience in Retail Design Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team Ideally a degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field Strong knowledge of retail/product design in terms of fixture design, lighting, finishes and signage Excellent understanding of construction means and methods including a strong knowledge of relevant regulations, codes and legislation Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe CS6 (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Exceptional concept design skills, a proven track record of managing design solutions and delivering projects Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills; verbal, written and visual Strong visual presentation skills including perspective sketching, graphic design and rendering (hand or computer generated) Benefits to you: Generous team member discounts on all Myer products, including team-member exclusive discounts.
