Mercure Newcastle is seeking a Full Time Breakfast Chef to join our small kitchen team. As our Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a diverse range of breakfast dishes, from traditional full hot breakfast to healthier and continental choices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve food for the breakfast buffet showing variety and flair
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage following stock control procedures
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy
- Wash all dishes during service
- Assist with in-house functions, restaurant and cafe food as required
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned
- Report any problems to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager
Qualifications
- Experience in buffet breakfast service preferred
- Deliver consistent, high quality food while maintaining set food cost
- Work in conjunction with service teams to ensure quality product and service to guests
- Have great communication skills and a positive attitude
- Have excellent planning and organisational skills
- Have willingness to learn and go above and beyond for our guests
