Join to apply for the Head of School | Bundaberg Campus role at YMCA Queensland1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Head of School | Bundaberg Campus role at YMCA QueenslandGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The Y Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation with leading services in childcare, fitness, schools, housing, hospitality, youth recreation and community programs.We are a vibrant, active community organisation, seeking to make a positive difference by providing each and every person with the opportunity to be healthy, happy and connected.Y Schools Queensland Bundaberg Campus are recruiting a committed Head of School on a Permanent Full-Time basis to join our team based in Bundaberg.About The RoleAs the Head of School with the Y Schools Queensland, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations to achieve agreed student outcomes in line with the strategic direction, philosophy, and educational practice established for the Y Schools Queensland sectorWhat will my time look like?Support and lead the delivery of school improvement processes with respect to the school’s academic, wellbeing and vocational pillars and subsequent development of related policies, procedures and practicesSupport the Principal in implementing the strategic direction of the school, with a particular focus upon the development and implementation of student wellbeing, academic and vocational practices to satisfy student outcome targetsDevelop and mentor Head of Campus to ensure effective school operations and a cohesive approach between the two sitesDevelop and mentor teachers / youth workers in their classroom practice, including the integration of the school’s wellbeing philosophy and vocational frameworkMaintain an understanding of Federal and State Government funding arrangements to ensure that both Campus student files and recording of student census data is sufficient to pass any auditBuild and manage effective relationships and connection between other Y SchoolsAm I a good match?Current Registered Teaching Qualifications, Post Graduate qualifications in Education and/or Educational LeadershipSignificant and successful leadership experience in a Secondary Educational setting of at least 3 yearsA demonstrated knowledge of the educational challenges facing disengaged young people, and the innovative methods needed to help them achieve wellbeing, academic and vocational outcomesDemonstrated capacity to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on Y-Care staff enable culture and Y mission and values.Complete a National and/or International Police Check prior to employment and at the discretion of the YCurrently possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000Achievement of YMCA’s Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.Ability to communicate effectively with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environmentHave experience in the delivery of VET courses, (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable)Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills and the ability to use those to influence the educational agenda for disengaged young peopleWhat’s in it for you?The Head of School is a key leadership role within our Y Schools Queensland.
