The Suburban Land Agency is currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager for its Urban Development Branch. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be a highly motivated and outcomes focused team member with a proven ability to contribute to land development projects from planning to implementation, familiar with, engaging with community and stakeholder groups and be innovative and able to achieve results. The Senior Project Manager position reports to the Development Manager and Development Director. Responsibilities include: Undertaking supportive functions to assist senior management in land sale and development with a focus on consultant and sales contract management contributing to major design development projects. Administration and implementation of; project specific and non-standard contract documents, procurement of specialised consultancies, place based community engagement processes; and managing consultants’ performance, program and cost. Contributing to the strategic and delivery planning phases of land release and development projects including preparation of project financial feasibility, business and project plans. The role will include contributing to Board papers and Cabinet submissions. As part of the Design and Delivery phase of land release projects managing and monitoring; Relevant approvals including environmental, heritage and estate subdivision design processes with a focus on delivering Agency community, sustainability and quality outcomes, and Applying well developed probity and project governance principles in procurement and contract management. Work closely with the Agency’s legal representatives and probity advisors to ensure contracts are drafted and administered effectively and fairly. Identifying and analysing risks, develop risk management plans, and undertaking regular risk reviews for projects within responsibility in accordance with legislation and guidelines established by the Agency and Territory. Facilitating co-operation and partnerships with other areas of the Agency, ACT Government stakeholders, key private sector organisations and contractors. Representing the Agency at meetings with Authorities, private enterprise, and community groups, including attendance at public meetings. Contributing to regular Project Status Reports for the Executive and Senior Management outlining outcomes, identified risks, budgetary matters and matters affecting the successful completion of projects within defined timeframes. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Mandatory: Positions classified as an Infrastructure Officer require the occupant to; Hold a relevant professional qualification or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or Hold a relevant building degree; or Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience. Highly Desirable: Experience of ACT Government procurement, planning, design, development and construction processes Demonstrated experience in delivering residential / commercial development projects A sound understanding / working knowledge of land release, including design, documentation and implementation. General Construction Induction Card (White Card). Asbestos Awareness Card. Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Card.
