The role
As a Clinical Support Representative (CSR), you will contribute to the efficient and accurate processing of laboratory specimens in alignment with Queensland Public Service values and ISO 15189 standards. Your primary responsibilities include receiving, registering, and preparing specimens for local and referral laboratory testing, maintaining consumables inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe working setting. You will manage client inquiries, assist in meeting Pathology Queensland's Turn Around Time targets, and perform general laboratory duties as directed by supervisors or managers. Adherence to health and safety protocols and participation in continuing education programs are integral to this role.
Success in this role requires availability to work all shifts on a 24/7 roster, a strong history of teamwork, respectful behavior, and reliability. You will demonstrate proficiency in data entry, laboratory information systems, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Your communication skills, accuracy, and ability to follow controlled processes with mínimal supervision will support your contributions to the team. While formal qualifications are not mandatory, a Certificate III in Pathology Assistance or higher is advantageous. The role involves standing for extended periods and some manual handling, requiring physical stamina and attention to workplace adjustments if needed.
