Debutant is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Apprentice to join the team. We are a French Steakhouse in central Wollongong working closely with local beef producers to create dishes showcasing in-house dry aged beef. Operating from Wednesday to Saturday, we guarantee a regular 3 day weekend.
As an apprentice, you will be responsible for learning different sections of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and in accordance with our recipes and specifications.
You will work closely with the Head Chef and the team to maintain consistency and quality in all aspects of food production, while increasing the depth of your knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
All our proteins are cooked over a woodfire, so experience with grilling meat is preferred.
There may also be an opportunity to work at RUKI Robatayaki Grill & Bar our new venue.
Responsibilities
* Someone who wants to be taught and give it there all in the kitchen.
* Day to day learning of opening and closing procedures including cleaning and following procedures.
* A willingness to learn all aspects of a fully functioning kitchen and gain experience.
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
* To produce a consistent, high-quality product and provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times including high volume service
* Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team
Requirements
* Registration under a RTO or TAFE for apprenticeship for commercial cookery.
* Fluent English
