Working closely with clinical staff, you will provide essential support services that contribute to the safe, efficient and compassionate care of our patients.If you are a reliable, team‐focused individual looking for a flexible casual role in a supportive hospital environment, we encourage you to apply.**The Position*** The Patient Services Assistant, under supervision, will be responsible for: + assisting with the transporting of patients + assisting with the transporting of equipment* Preparing snack meals when catering staff is absent* Caring for water jugs* Preheating meals* Setting up meal trays in certain circumstances* Distributing meals* Collecting patient trays* Cleaning kitchen and fridge* Distributing menus* Strip sanitising beds and remake after discharge of patient* Ensuring waste material is removed* Removing contaminated waste material* Mopping floors as required* Cleaning of ward area* Cleaning infectious rooms and beds* Dusting both damp and dry* Ensure dirty linen is removed* Carry out general ward tidy* Carry out specific cleaning* Maintaining flowers and vases as required* Cleaning of equipment* Spot cleaning of internal windows and annual cleaning of windows* check inventory of oxygen and suction equipment and replace as necessary after discharge* check oxygen cylinders* Maintain stock levels in cleaners' room and trolley* Report on faulty equipmentYou will be able to work effectively with minimal supervision while contributing positively as part of a team in a dynamic and changing hospital environment. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, allowing you to interact confidently and respectfully with patients, colleagues and visitors.You will be capable of prioritising your workload to meet changing demands, while maintaining confidentiality and upholding a patient‐focused approach to care.
