We're on the hunt for a First or Second-Year Apprentice Hairdresser who's enthusiastic, curious, and ready to dive headfirst or continue their journey into the wonderfully messy, occasionally chaotic, always-fun world of hairdressing.
Overview
At Fatty Arbuckles, you'll learn from some of the best in the biz while gaining hands-on experience in a busy, buzzing salon. You'll build your hairdressing skills, have fun, make friends, and maybe even learn the secret to making our Senior Stylists laugh at bad puns.
Our salon family currently consists of 5 Senior Stylists, 1 other Apprentice, our Salon Coordinator, and our Saturday receptionist—and we promise, we don't bite (unless it's a donut).
* Hours: Full time, permanent. Weekdays from 9:45am and Saturdays from 9am.
* Pay: Above Award wages + bonus & commission opportunities (we like rewarding hard work—and clever jokes).
* Location: East Perth WA (some paid parking & easy access to public transport options).
Who We're Looking For
We want someone who brings:
* Enthusiasm: You get genuinely excited about hair and making clients look amazing.
* Reliability: You show up on time, ready to shine (and maybe bring snacks).
* Work Ethic: You're keen to learn, grow, and occasionally wrestle with stubborn cowlicks.
* Sense of Humour: Life's too short for boring salons—if you can laugh at yourself (and us), you're a perfect fit.
What You'll Do
* Help our senior stylists with shampooing, conditioning, and prepping clients (bonus points if you have a signature shampoo technique).
* Watch, learn, and eventually perform cutting, colouring, and styling like a pro.
* Make clients feel welcome, comfortable, and fabulous—even if they bring a million questions about their hair.
* Keep the salon clean, organised, and safe (we like glitter-free floors, mostly).
* Turn challenges into opportunities (like figuring out what "just a trim" really means).
* Attend training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to level up your skills.
