Aboutthe Role
Due to theexpediential growth within the City of Wanneroo, we are seeking anenthusiastic and motivated Building Surveyor to join ouraward-winning Building Services team.
As a SeniorBuilding Surveyor for the City, you will collaborate withresidents, stakeholders, and industry professionals to effectivelyand efficiently carry out regulatory building control functions.
You'll provide building and planning services that meet thecustomers' needs while adhering to Building Regulations andCorporate standards.
As a leadingmember of the Building Services team, you will apply your expertiseand judgment while following established policies and procedures tohandle daily tasks like assessments, inspections andcertifications.
You will be responsible for:
Processing buildingapplications within statutory timeframes, providing a highlevel of customer service and ensuring compliance with theBuilding Code of Australia, Building Act ****, BuildingRegulations **** and the Residential Design Codes;
Ensurescompliance with relevant legislation, standards and the Cityrequirements, minimising refunds as required under the BuildingAct if timeframes are not met;
Acts as a point of contact for customers and stakeholders and respondsto enquiries ensuring that these are addressed, resolved and/orre-directed for resolution;
Engagewith customers and stakeholders, assisting with enquiries toensure the matter is addressed, resolved and/or re-directed forresolution; and
Undertakes research andanalysis in assigned areas, reviewing alternative solutions anddesign principles.
AboutYou
You will be anadaptable and experienced Building Surveyor who thrives working ina busy and change driven organisation.
As such, you will beable to demonstrate through your resume and covering letter thatyou meet the following capabilities:
Qualification in a relevant discipline such as Advanced Diploma in BuildingSurveying or Bachelor of Building Surveying;
Registered as a BuildingSurveying Practitioner with the Department of Energy, Mines,Industry Regulation and Safety.
Relevantexperience in a similar role;
Strongcustomer service skills with the ability to communicate with awide variety of stakeholders in a professionalmanner;
Anability to employ the City's corporate values in yourday-to-day work;
Valid CClass Drivers Licence; and
Strongorganisational skills with the ability to prioritise competingtasks
