**Our journey**
The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be Australia's first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories, emergency, intensive care and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The Victorian Heart Hospital will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.

Reporting to the General Services Manager, you'll be welcomed into our larger Monash Health Support Services team and will be supported by a broader team of People and Culture & Finance business partners, as well as the team of Support Services Managers across multiples sites.

The **General Service Supervisor** is responsible for the supervision of Patient Service Assistants (PSA) and Environmental Service Assistants (ESA), linen, pest control, washroom services and waste services and works to assist the general services leadership team in meeting operational objectives.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Roster management
- Leading a large multi skilled workforce
- Achieving accreditation for areas of responsibility
- Achieving service key performance indicators
- Delivery of high-quality customer focused services
- Managing site-wide cleaning, waste, linen and patient movement requests
**What you bring**:
- A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
- Effective organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- The ability to maintain the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a friendly approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health
- A proactive team player approach
- Ability to prioritise tasks while working alone or as part of a cohesive team
- Extensive knowledge of infection prevention best practice and cleaning requirements

**What you need**:
- Previous leadership experience supervising /managing a team (Essential)
- Roster management experience
- A high standard of demonstrated experience cleaning preferable in a healthcare environment
- The ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Clear understanding of the Victorian Public Hospital Cleaning Standards
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Ability to understand**, **follow and implement written instructions and company procedures
- Basic to intermediate computer/digital skills
- Excellent understanding of infection control procedures
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
