What You'll Be Doing
In this strategic district-wide role, you'll lead and support the implementation of the Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Program across WSLHD, ensuring the safe, effective and responsible use of antimicrobials. You'll act as a subject matter expert and clinical leader driving evidence-based practice and education.
 * Provide expert clinical advice in antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
 * Drive data-informed interventions to optimise antimicrobial prescribing
 * Lead and support AMS rounding, surveillance and policy development
 * Facilitate education sessions for clinicians and students on AMS best practice
 * Monitor and evaluate antimicrobial use to reduce resistance and improve patient outcomes
Essential Criteria
 * Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Pharmacy.
 * Registration: AHPRA & Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Selection Criteria
 * Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no conditions or restrictions on practice and evidence of extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice, particularly in the management of infectious diseases.
 * Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
 * Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process.
 * Demonstrated excellent therapeutic knowledge and ability to exercise a high level of initiative in the application of pharmaceutical principles to clinical infectious diseases (including identification and resolution of problems relating to the use of antimicrobial drugs).
 * Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and manage time to meet deadlines.
 * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change.
 * Demonstrated skills in information technology: using computer applications including dispensing, database management, accessing medicine information, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.
 * Demonstrated skills in quality improvement with the ability to engage and coach staff to develop and deliver sustainable initiatives to improve patient care and experience.
