About the opportunity
Exciting role for a Nurse Midwife Educator to join Mercy Hospital Victoria Ltd Education Team as an Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education.
Mercy Hospitals Victoria Ltd Learning Team is committed to providing quality education by promoting excellence in professional practice through empowering Nurses and Midwives in the public health sector. This education role plays an integral part in leading and influencing quality education and professional development to build our future workforce.
Responsibilities
* Expert clinical advisor for educational strategies related to Women's and Children's health.
* Develop and implement educational strategies for maternity and neonatal education programs.
* Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education and the education team to support clinical staff education and training (Undergraduate, Graduate, and Post Graduate).
What you'll bring
* Currently dual registered Nurse and Midwife or Midwife with AHPRA.
* Post registration qualification in education is desired but not essential.
* Experience in leadership and management including the ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team.
* Advanced skills in educational design and implementation.
* Knowledge of contemporary nursing and midwifery workforce challenges and practices.
* Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem-solve.
* A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
* The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Are you a senior educator or a strong leader?
We strongly encourage applicants who are pursuing a postgraduate qualification in education or working toward a master's degree in a relevant specialty.
Required evidence
* A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
* Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
