Role responsibilities
Execute spot and short-term energy trades across the NEM to optimise real-time P&L and manage exposure
Monitor dispatch, pricing, demand and generation trends to identify intraday trading opportunities
Manage trading positions within risk limits, ensuring compliance with market and regulatory requirements
Analyse market conditions, outages, weather and constraints to inform rapid trading decisions
Collaborate with risk, operations and portfolio teams to balance positions and support portfolio optimisation
About you
2+ years' experience in spot or short-term energy trading within the Australian NEM
Strong understanding of dispatch, bidding strategies, FCAS and spot market dynamics
Advanced analytical capability and experience using trading and market data platforms
AFMA accreditation (or working towards) and relevant degree in finance, economics, engineering or similar
Ability to make quick, high-impact decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment
