The Paediatric Services team in Launceston, Tasmania, is a dedicated group within the Department of Health (DoH), focused on providing high-quality healthcare to children and families in the region. This team is made up of a diverse group of medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners, and administrative staff, all working in tandem to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.
The Role :
The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in Paediatric Services provides crucial administrative support to ensure smooth unit operations. Key duties include managing the NUM’s calendar, coordinating meetings, and handling communication between staff, patients, and external parties. The EA assists with resource management, scheduling, and organising departmental events, as well as supporting departmental projects and initiatives. They also help with recruitment, maintaining staff records, and ensuring compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations. Additionally, the EA supports budget management and process improvements, contributing to efficient, high-quality patient care and team collaboration.
Details of appointment :
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 25th May 2025 until 11th July 2026.
* Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary : $73,811 to $79,779 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
