We currently have an prospect for a **Maintenance Worker** to fill an integral part of the team at **Bethanie Bert England Lodge Aged Care Home in Rockingham**. Bert England Lodge is a 44 bed facility offering dementia care as well as respite, located close to Rockingham General Hospital.
The role is responsible for ensuring the buildings, plant and equipment and other assets are maintained in a serviceable and safe condition. Your role could vary from testing & tagging out equipment; minor painting and plaster repairs; basic plumbing repairs and general labouring duties. You will use an iPad for logging and completing works in our maintenance system so it's important that you have basic computer literacy for these tasks.
As a Maintenance Worker, you will support our Facility Manager and residents with maintenance services across our aged care home. This rewarding position will fulfil your interest in providing a supportive and compassionate service and giving something back to the community.
This is a **permanent part-time** role **(15 hours per week)** working Tuesday and Friday between the hours of **8:00am - 4:00pm**
**To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes**:
- Have a broad range of general maintenance skills, across both building and equipment
- Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests
- Have previous experience managing planned and reactive tasks
- Maintain adequate records of all maintenance performed
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Takes initiative and has a 'can do' attitude
- Experience in general property maintenance
**Essential Criteria**:
- Current A-class drivers' licence
- Previous experience in an Aged Care facility - desirable
- Current Covid and Flu Vaccinations are required
- Ability to communicate with staff and care recipients
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements
- Literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to perform the role
- Basic computer skills.
