Painter
The primary role of a painter involves applying coatings to surfaces in order to protect and enhance their appearance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard, including surface preparation, mixing and application of paint and other related materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Applying coatings to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures
* Washing, scraping, sanding and/or smoothing surfaces prior to painting or applying other related materials
* Ensuring equipment, paint mixing area and work area are thoroughly cleaned
* Installing, repairing and maintaining internal surfaces, walls to ceilings
* Competently erecting and using apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at all heights
* Safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous substances
Requirements:
* Highly developed manual dexterity and fine motor skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
* Ability to read and interpret technical information and instructions
* Capacity to maintain a clean and safe working environment
