The Opportunity

We have a permanent part-time opportunity (32 hours per week, Monday–Thursday) for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Finance team based at Wests New Lambton.
In this role, you will support payroll operations across our Group working within a high-volume environment of approximately 900 employees, across multiple sites and industrial awards.
You will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely weekly payroll, while working closely with stakeholders across the business including managers, rostering teams and employees.

You are calm, professional and highly detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and pride in your work. You enjoy working behind the scenes to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, and you handle queries with professionalism and care.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a steady, thoughtful approach when working with a variety of stakeholders. You are naturally organised, adaptable, and not afraid to ask questions to get things right.
What We Are Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll environment
* Experience using payroll systems and working with multiple awards or industrial instruments
* Availability to work Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm (on-site role)
* Experience in high-volume payroll environments (hospitality, retail or similar highly regarded)
* Strong attention to detail and confidence working with some manual processes
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise weekly payroll cycles
* A professional communication style when handling queries
* High level of confidentiality and integrity
* A team-focused mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
* Exposure to payroll reporting or system improvements will be highly regarded, with opportunities to develop in these areas over time.
