Overview
As part of the Austal Defence Australia (ADA) team, the Infrastructure and Capability Project Manager (PM) is accountable for executing project planning and delivery of the large-scale shipbuilding facilities required to support the Landing Craft Heavy Shipbuilding Program, on budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements. The Project Manager will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to establish a fully functional facility capable of supporting complex shipbuilding operations.
What's Involved
* Stakeholder Management, proactively manage, within business constraints, all project stakeholders, contractors and ADA client.
* Responsible for Commercial Contract Performance Management, which involves managing, interpreting, and making decisions on contract terms to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
* Ensure Project Delivery — by managing assigned project within agreed schedules and budget, as well as to an agreed quality and safety standard for the project.
* Ensure Austal's Earned Value Management System (EVMS) is implemented and maintained on the project.
* Continuous Improvement, proactively manage and capture performance data and information.
* Create a dynamic and high performing team.
* You'll Need
Essential
* 5+ years experience in a project manager role or equivalent
* Diploma or higher qualification in Project Management, or progress towards qualification
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
* Strong management skills and team building capability
* Understanding of EVMS principles
* Expertise in civil engineering and infrastructure construction methods
* Proven andEffective communications skills, and proven stakeholder management ability
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
Desirable
* Project Management Experience in Industrial Construction Industry
* Defence or Government project experience
