Resource Modeling Solutions Ltd. (RMS), a division of GeologicAI, is a leading technology company with staff based out of Canada, United States and Australia. Over the last ten years, RMS and GeologicAI have developed a suite of proprietary technologies that provide market leading insight into geology, geological structures, resource modeling and solving of geometallurgical problems. Our technologies include a broad range of robotics and sensor hardware components, machine learning and artificial intelligence analytical components, algorithms, and customer-facing and internal-use software components. Our business continues to gain market traction with operations across North America, South America and Australia, with a view to client-driven European, Middle Eastern and Asian Pacific expansion in 2025.
As we aim to maintain our position as a science and technology leader, while growing our business, we are seeking to add a senior professional to support innovation activities that generate long-term value and continue to meet the needs of our client-focused operations. This role would focus primarily on advanced geostatistical modeling projects (automated resource modeling, uncertainty studies, value of information studies, etc.), including designing and executing of bespoke workflows for deposit-specific features and challenges. The role would also involve collaborating with RMS’ multi-disciplinary consulting team and delivering customer training programs. Suited applicants would enjoy working creatively and independently, finding passion in developing automated workflows that bring timely value to mining operations through improved deposit characterization and risk quantification.
Primary responsibilities:
* Working on resource model estimation and uncertainty studies in a consulting capacity
* Supporting users of the Resource Modeling Solutions Platform (RMSP), such as providing low and high level geostatistical workflow guidance
Secondary responsibilities:
* Providing remote/in-person short course industry training, relating to practical geostatistical methodologies, resource modeling, etc.
* Engaging in business development, such as remote/in-person product demonstrations, attending conferences, etc.
* Supervising and mentoring junior consulting staff
Preferred skills/qualifications
* Required: 8+ years experience working as a geologist, resource geologist or geostatistician in the mining industry
* Required: 5+ years experience in resource modeling, including conventional estimation and simulation (preferably with modern techniques including domain simulation)
* Required: 2+ years experience applying Python programming to resource modeling
* Preferred: RMSP experience and post graduate studies in geostatistics
Compensation
* Performance bonus up to 20% of base salary
* Educational requirements
* Required: Bachelor’s degree in geology, mining engineering, or related equivalent
* Preferred: Master’s degree, post graduate studies or training programs in geostatistics or geology (e.g., Citation in Geostatistics)
Location
Australia; Perth preferred but not required. Remote initially, with the expectation of a hybrid office/remote schedule as the team grows
