About the role
The Rockhampton Accommodation Centre supports a vast region of Central Queensland and provides essential, affordable accommodation to vulnerable individuals and their families when they are away from home for medical treatment. It is an integral part of the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS).
The position is responsible for the operations of the facility staff and volunteers, delivery of culturally appropriate services and supports to facility residents. This role will oversee the facility bookings, resident arrivals and departures and take a proactive approach to ensuring a high level of facility occupancy and collection of accommodation charges. You will maintain effective partnerships and relationships with Aboriginal communities and organisation and a wide range of government and non government agencies in the region. In addition, you'll oversee operations of the onsite Mobility Equipment Hire Service, Thrift Shop and a Sale of Clean rags operation.
What you will bring
Strong staff and team management skills and the ability to lead, manage, develop and support staff and volunteers effectively
Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and communities
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in MS Office and client databases
Facility and service management skills and the ability to implement, deliver, monitor and evaluate activities at the facility
Sound, contemporary knowledge of health and safety legislation and the ability to manage, implement and maintain appropriate safety, security and maintenance procedures in a 24-hour residential environment
Planning and organisational skills, good time management and proficiency in MS Office
A current Working with Children check (Blue Card) is a mandatory requirement for this role
Drivers licence

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $88, superannuation + access to salary packaging.
