Offer description

Our client is delivering a gold mining project and is seeking an experienced E&I Field Engineer to join a small, high-performing site team based in Greece. This is a FIFO opportunity for an initial 3-6 month assignment, with the potential for mixed office and site-based work in Australia following completion of the overseas phase. E&I Field Engineer FIFO - Greece (with potential ongoing work in Australia)

4 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster

6 days per week (Sunday off) & 12-hour days

This role is well suited to a hands-on E&I professional who thrives in site environments and can bridge the gap between engineering, drafting, and construction teams. You'll play a critical role during construction and commissioning, ensuring electrical and instrumentation systems are installed safely, accurately, and in line with project and regulatory requirements.

About the Role: You will be part of a 3-4 person site team, reporting to the Project Manager / EIC Manager. As the E&I Field Engineer, you will be responsible for:

* Providing on-site electrical and instrumentation engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning activities
* Interpreting E&I design documentation including drawings, cable schedules, loop diagrams, termination diagrams, and datasheets
* Identifying and resolving design deficiencies, constructability issues, and site clashes
* Red-lining drawings and coordinating field changes with engineering and drafting teams
* Updating and maintaining cable schedules, I/O lists, and equipment registers
* Reviewing revised drawings prior to issue for construction and as-built status
* Supporting E&I contractors and technicians on-site
* Verifying installations against drawings, specifications, and relevant standards
* Assisting with inspections, pre-commissioning, and fault-finding activities
* Acting as a technical interface between site teams, project engineers, and vendors
* Participating in site meetings, technical reviews, and toolbox talks as required

What do you need to succeed in this position?

* Formal education in Electrical and/or Instrumentation systems (trade qualification, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent)
* Demonstrated experience in an E&I field engineering or senior technical role within mining, industrial, energy, or processing environments (ideally with brownfield or greenfield projects)
* Strong ability to interpret E&I design documentation and resolve site-based issues
* Experience red-lining drawings and maintaining project documentation
* Working knowledge of Australian and European standards
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively on-site, fluent in English, and available for immediate mobilisation
* Australian drivers licence

Why this role?

* FIFO roster: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
* Initial 3-6 month international assignment
* Accommodation provided (hotel)
* USD $60 per day per diem
* Transport and accommodation covered while in Greece
* Paid in AUD
* Immediate mobilisation
* Opportunity for ongoing work in Australia post-project

This is a rare opportunity to join an international FIFO project on a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster, commencing with a 3–6 month assignment in Greece. The role includes hotel accommodation, all transport covered while overseas and daily food allowance. There is also very strong potential for ongoing work in Australia once the project is complete.
