About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the role:
We are looking for an Engineer, specialising in Kubernetes, to support the adoption, evolution, of future edge technology maximise agility for tech enablement at Coles Retail stores.
You will be accountable for building, enhancing and maintaining the engineering capability, frameworks, and patterns as a foundation for supporting business applications.
Key responsibilities include :
* Build and automate infrastructure as code solutions using Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps, and Architecture.
* Working on Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps, and Architecture to ensure seamless infrastructure management.
* Provide technical expertise and advice deemed as appropriate to the organisation requirements.
* Provide support to cross-functional teams using a hybrid on prem and Azure services and associated toolsets.
* As an Infrastructure as Code Engineer, you will be responsible for provisioning and configuring infrastructure across the DevOps architecture using code and APIs.
* Create, modify, and delete infrastructure using code and APIs, ensuring compliance with Coles security and any regulatory requirements.
* Explain the value of quality engineering approaches to stakeholders.
* Assess a project situation and recommend the most suitable solution, approach, and tool.
* Responsible for working with a wide range of stakeholders and elaborating engineering solution designs coach and enable the Store Infrastructure Engineering team and build team in all quality facets.
* Ensure that the solutions delivered are fit-for-purpose and adhere to the solution design proposed and the underpinning principles of good software development.
* Ensure that the selected Store Infrastructure engineering frameworks/toolkits are fit-for-purpose.
* Ensure, where applicable that DevOps tools and techniques including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD are leveraged to enable continuous testing.
* Build an understanding of the product on a technical and functional level, understanding the context of our clients.
* Keep up to date with industry trends in Store Infrastructure engineering, including cloud, latest architecture & designs for Store Infrastructure engineering platforms and artificial intelligence.
About you and your skills:
* At least 5 years of demonstrated industry experience in large enterprise organizations.
* At least 2 years of experience in Microsoft Azure IaaS.
* Ability to provide expert advice, guidance, offer suggestions, etc. and be seen as a subject matter expert within the team.
* Ability to expand existing and develop new technical skills as required to emerging needs
* Demonstrated experience in implementing technical solutions for complex and distributed environments.
* Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the technology’s broader operational environment (i.e., processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems Microsoft (Linux desired but not essential).
* Experience managing relationships with stakeholders.
* Proven experience in IAAS development especially in cloud native applications.
* Build and automate infrastructure as code solutions using Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps, and Architecture.
* Provide technical expertise and advice deemed as appropriate to the organisation requirements
