About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Database Administrator to support a major financial services environment. This role will focus on the administration, optimisation, and support of critical mainframe database systems, with a strong emphasis on HOGAN and IMS technologies.
You will work as part of a highly skilled enterprise team ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of key banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day support and administration of mainframe database environments
* Manage and maintain HOGAN, IMS HALDB, and Fast Path databases
* Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting
* Support Managed ACB and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes
* Work with scheduling and automation tools such as Control/M (or equivalent)
* Utilise BMC IMS tools for monitoring and database management
* Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery
* Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, governance, and security policies
Required Skills And Experience
* Proven experience as a Mainframe DBA in large-scale enterprise environments
* Strong expertise in:
o HOGAN
o IMS HALDB
o Fast Path
o Managed ACB
o CDC
* Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control/M or similar
* Hands‐on knowledge of BMC IMS tooling
* Background in banking or financial services environments is highly desirable
* Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to work in a fast‐paced environment
