Team
As part of our established and highly successful global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG), we're continuing to grow our Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory (CMAA) practice team in Sydney. We're currently looking for an Assistant Manager and a Manager to join us and play an integral part as we continue to scale.
Roles
We are looking for an Assistant Manager and a Manager to support our CMAA team providing advice across the full deal lifecycle on technical accounting issues, complex transactions, GAAP conversions, accounting due diligence, accounting change, financial reporting, carve‐outs, IPO readiness and leveraging cutting‐edge accounting knowledge to structure buy‐and‐sell‐side deals.
Responsibilities
* Deliver transaction‐oriented accounting and reporting assistance for acquisitions, divestitures, and capital restructures throughout the deal life cycle.
* Provide accounting and fiscal advice on complex transaction structuring, major infrastructure projects and government reforms.
* Offer advice on complex accounting areas such as financial instruments and revenue recognition, present accounting advisory and financial reporting support to clients, including implementation of new standards and drafting technical accounting papers.
* Collaborate with TAG, Valuations and Tax teams to resolve technical accounting and deal‐related matters, including SPA and completion accounts.
* Assist with regulatory filings for IPOs, spin‐offs, carve‐outs, debt offerings and other acquisition filings for both domestic and cross‐border transactions; support conversion services to clients requiring a change in their financial reporting to IFRS or US GAAP.
Qualifications
* Experience within Accounting Advisory or a background with transferable skills, ideally from a Big Four environment. Commercially minded with strong technical accounting skills and a working knowledge of IFRS.
* Ability to work in a fluid and evolving environment, with prior experience working on deals being preferable.
* Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with an ability to assimilate easily into teams. CA qualification.
* Proactive in identifying client needs, building strong relationships, and confidently challenging where needed. Self‐motivated, ethical, dependable and possess a good level of emotional intelligence.
