Overview
This role offers a Child & Maternal Health Community Nurse the opportunity to provide essential health services in a remote community. You will take responsibility for maternal, child, and adult care, provide emergency support, and oversee service delivery. The position requires a nurse who can work independently at times while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver maternal, child, and adult health services including antenatal, postnatal, breastfeeding, immunisation, and wellbeing care
* Provide emergency clinical care as required
* Lead and coordinate health programs, including education and preventative care
* Oversee clinical reporting, care plans, and follow-ups, including liaising with visiting specialists
* Mentor and support other nursing staff and local health practitioners
* Ensure culturally appropriate care and a respectful, professional approach
* Participate in care planning, health checks, and chronic disease management
* Maintain accurate records and meet all reporting requirements

Requirements
* Registered Nurse or Midwife with unrestricted registration (NMBA/AHPRA)
* Advanced Life Support and Paediatric Life Support certificates
* Experience in maternal, child, and adult health care, including emergency response
* Strong cross-cultural communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting
* Experience coordinating care with visiting specialists
* Computer literacy and ability to maintain clinical and administrative records
Desirable
* Experience working in remote or Indigenous community health
* Experience delivering maternal and child health education programs
* Experience with pharmacotherapeutics and immunization
