Empower Tasmanian Aboriginal people, while supporting the wider community and government, to advance the recognition, management and protection of Tasmania's unique Aboriginal cultural heritage.


About the role

Play a vital role in preserving and promoting Tasmania's rich Aboriginal cultural heritage. As an Archaeologist, you will work alongside community, government and land managers to ensure heritage is recognised, respected and protected.

In this meaningful position you'll:

* Provide expert advice under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1975.
* Manage heritage data and systems with integrity and accuracy.
* Lead and support fieldwork and projects that advance cultural heritage outcomes.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

* An honours or post-graduate degree relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken.
* Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment).

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered.
