Position: Construction Manager
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate the delivery of our construction projects. This role requires strong experience across both residential construction (houses and townhouses) and commercial construction (apartments, retail, mixed-use developments).
You will be responsible for managing and supporting project teams, monitoring progress, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance, and overseeing resourcing across multiple projects. The role reports directly to the Construction Director.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Planning & Resource Management: Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and manage the sharing of resources across projects as required.
* Safety: Establish, promote, and maintain a strong safety culture across all sites.
* Quality Control: Drive quality outcomes through effective planning and construction practices.
* Risk Management: Collaborate with project teams to identify risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support construction teams to foster a productive and collaborative working environment.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
* Reporting: Monitor project KPIs and provide regular performance reports to the Construction Director.
* Project Completion: Support project teams through final stages to achieve Practical Completion.
The Successful Candidate Will
* Experience: 7+ years of experience in residential and commercial construction, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
* Education: It is preferred that you have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or comparative Construction diploma.
* Certifications: Hold an Open QBCC Supervisors licence or meet all qualifications requirements to gain your supervisors licence.
* Skills:
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
* Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
* Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft project, Jobpac) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
* In-depth understanding of safety protocols and regulations in construction.
