The opportunity
This position leads a team that fulfils vital introduction to service tasks relating to Apache Program Training - including all substantive roles supporting the establishment of this current aircraft platform. Tasks include qualification mapping, curriculum and courseware material developmental activities and train the trainer support from acquisition into the sustainment phase of the Apache Helicopter Program. This position will be based at the Army Aviation Centre, Swartz Barracks Oakey, QLD.
This is a permanent role with an immediate start date.
As a BDA Instructional Systems Designer Lead, you will provide the full spectrum of training support for our current and emerging customer training requirements on the Apache Program.
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyse customer training requirements and develop innovative, relevant and engaging technical training support solutions to meet their needs.
- Manage the team evaluating documentation to validate training needs and satisfy customer requirements.
- Support the development of the Apache Training curriculum across all substantive roles.
- Conduct the development of training artefacts to support project processes.
- Develop innovative, relevant and engaging training solutions.
- Evaluate and update training materials in response to feedback and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support all training delivery requirements.
- Lead the conduct Apache courseware validation to verify effective delivery standards of all new training materials, devices and synthetic training technologies.
- Working collaboratively with our Apache Training Team, platform stakeholders and Army customer.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis, design, development and evaluation of training (Experience in Training Needs Analysis)
- Understanding of the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL) or a Defence Training background
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in Instructional Design
- Ability to work under limited supervision in a fast paced environment
- Ability to obtain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements
Desirable
- TAE40116 Certificate IV - Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification
- High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
- Understanding of DASA qualification mapping
- Exceptional time management, communication and consultation skills
