Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high‐performing technology team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and capability uplift through coaching and succession planning.
* Own and drive the platform strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment to organisational objectives, measurable business outcomes, and long‐term scalability.
* Partner with architecture, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders to guide platform design decisions, optimise performance, and embed new ways of working.
* Oversee platform reliability, resilience, and operational excellence, including monitoring, lifecycle management, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and incident management.
* Ensure platforms are secure, compliant, and operated in line with cyber security frameworks, identity and access management controls, and regulatory obligations.
* Lead risk, compliance, and governance activities by maintaining effective controls, supporting audits, managing remediation activities, and promoting a strong risk culture.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data‐driven insights, operational reviews, and implementation of best practices across platforms and services.
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, and service performance to ensure delivery quality, SLA adherence, and alignment with business objectives.
* Oversee financial management of platforms and services, including budgeting, forecasting, cost optimisation, and maximising value from technology investments.
About you
You are a proven senior technology leader with solid lending experience and a track record of delivering secure, stable, and customer‐centric platforms aligned to business objectives. You bring strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to drive high‐performing teams, stakeholder satisfaction, and exceptional customer experiences.
Key Skills
* Experience leading teams on lending platforms in retail banking (home loan, personal loan, credit card applications, and assessment process).
* Experience with Simpology or NextGen is highly regarded.
* Previous hands‐on technical experience is an added advantage.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non‐technical.
* Working knowledge of the credit assessment process.
* Demonstrated experience in agile delivery methodologies.
* Demonstrated experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and change delivery.
* Demonstrated experience ensuring all environments and processes are compliant and risk assessed, working closely with Service Owners.
* Strong experience in managing a hybrid team that includes internal employees and service providers (including offshore team members).
* Excellent team player and proven track record of building successful teams.
