We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and technically minded **Junior VFX Editor** to join our Technical Services Department.
**Employment period**: 6 or 12 month contracts
**Location**: Adelaide, Australia. This position is open to Australians and applicants who have the right to work in Australia.

**Position Overview**
Working as a Junior VFX editor you play a key part in connecting our client's editorial vision with our artist teams by managing the internal cuts for the sequences and shots that we're working on.
Although there may be aspects of creative editing, this is primarily a technical role that focuses on conforming to our client's work.
To be successful in this role, you must be technically minded, have a high attention to detail, proactive and a clear communicator. You are adept at handling the pressure of regular deadlines.
**Responsibilities**
- Ingest, update and maintain edits for our visual effects sequences
- Process and validate editorial material provided by clients
- Manage, assemble and quality control all appropriate editorial media
- Update editorial information into internal systems
- Generate editorial media as required
- Assist in managing client delivery tools
- Assisting in the creation of marketing media including internal marketing, show reels, breakdowns, and awards reels
- Performing all duties while adhering to strict security protocols
- Update and generate process documentation
- Assist with other Technical Services tasks as requested
**What we need you to bring to our team**:
**Technical Skills**:
- 1+ year(s) editing experience
- Proficient in the use of editing software, preferably Avid Media Composer
- Competence in the creation and management of editorial media
- Understanding of editorial concepts like frame rate, timecode, resolution, file formats and codecs
- Understanding of the post-production process
- Basic understanding of colour management
- Basic understanding of visual effects workflows

**Advantageous but not essential**:
- Previous experience in visual effects editorial environment
- Use of Linux command line
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in film editing, postproduction, or visual effects
