The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14-kilometre bypass of the Coffs Harbour urban area, from Englands Road in the south to Sapphire in the north and is a once-in-a-generation project for the mid-north coast community.
Ferrovial and Gamuda Joint Venture (FGJV), also known as the Coffs Harbour Bypass Team are the proud design and construct joint venture delivery partners for this significant, unique and extraordinary major infrastructure project that will leave a legacy of innovation and sustainability in the region for communities of today and tomorrow.
The Coffs Harbour Bypass Team is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contracts Manager to part of the delivery for this legacy project. This role will be a key member of the commercial department and be an important addition to an already successful team.
About the Role
As a Senior Contracts Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual performance of the project. Working closely with project engineers, commercial managers, subcontractors and suppliers, you will be responsible for effective contract administration through the procurement, delivery and close‑out stages.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced project environment and wants to continue progressing toward senior commercial roles.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer subcontract and supply agreements across allocated work packages.
* Prepare, review and process progress claims, variations and extension‑of‑time requests.
* Support commercial risk identification, mitigation and reporting.
* Assist in negotiating subcontract terms, pricing, scope changes and settlement of commercial issues.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract requirements and project governance.
* Manage subcontractor communications, correspondence, notices and contract documentation.
* Maintain accurate commercial records, registers and forecasting data.
* Support the preparation of monthly project reporting and cost reviews.
* Collaborate with site teams to ensure contractual obligations and project milestones are understood and met.
* Contribute to continuous improvement in commercial processes and systems.
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 4+ years' experience in contract administration within construction, preferably major infrastructure or road projects.
* Strong understanding of subcontract administration, procurement processes and contract law fundamentals.
* Proven ability to manage multiple work packages in a fast‑paced environment.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiation and issue resolution.
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and financial skills.
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
