The Role The firm is seeking a skilled solicitor to join its defendant insurance litigation team.
These roles focus on Silicosis/Dust disease litigation – handling cases involving major clients nationwide in this specialist area.
Key responsibilities include: Conducting legal research and drafting detailed advice to clients; Preparing court documents, pleadings, and witness statements; Managing large volumes of documents and paper-based court proceedings in Queensland; Attending Alternative Dispute Resolution processes, including mediations and settlement conferences; Representing clients in court proceedings and assisting with advocacy; Liaising with expert witnesses, investigators, and other professionals; and Maintaining client relationships and contributing to business development efforts.
The Candidate The ideal candidate will have: 1-5 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in general litigation, with a preference for insurance litigation; A strong academic background in law, with additional medical knowledge considered an advantage; Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle a fast-paced workload; Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills; A proactive approach to problem-solving and client service; The ability to thrive under deadlines while maintaining high-quality work; and A genuine interest in advocacy and court work.
