Legal Support Officer – Temporary Role (Perth)
DFP Recruitment Services is seeking a motivated and experiencedLegal Support Officer (APS 3) for atemporary full-time position with a Federal Government client inPerth. This role is offered under alabour hire arrangement for an initial6-month period, with the possibility of further extension. This means that there are no leave entitlements but there is casual loading already included in the hourly rate range presented in this advert.
Key Responsibilities:
* Case Administration: Manage case files, perform data entry, photocopying, filing, records management, and archiving.
* Case Preparation & Coordination: Prepare case materials, lodge documents, and conduct basic research.
* Witness & Court Support: Draft subpoenas, coordinate witness logistics (including travel arrangements), and manage video conferencing setups.
* Court Liaison & Deliveries: Work closely with Federal Prosecutors, external agencies, courts, and counsel. This rolerequires the use of trolleys and suitcases for deliveries, collections, and court filings within theCBD and court precinct .
* Exposure to Sensitive Content: The role involves supporting prosecutions, including child exploitation offences. While images are not stored on-site,administrative staff may be exposed to sensitive materials such as Records of Interview, Transcripts, and Summaries of Evidence .
* Communication & Problem-Solving: Provide timely and accurate advice while escalating issues to senior staff as needed.
* Professional Development: Engage in learning and development activities as required.
About You:
The ideal candidate is anenthusiastic, detail-oriented, and resilient team player with a background inadministration-based roles. You must be comfortable handlingsensitive and confidential information and demonstrate the ability to work in astructured, high-pressure legal environment .
Mandatory Requirements:
* Australian Citizenship: Applicantsmust be Australian citizens at the time of application.No exceptions.
* Security Clearance: A minimumBaseline Security Clearance with the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) is required.
o This process takes approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of interview to the official start date. We will faciliate you obtaining this clearance, but you need to be willing and able to provide information to obtain this, such as history of work/addresses of living and travel etc.
* Full-time Availability: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (37.5 hours per week).
* Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to handletrolleys and suitcases for case-related tasks.
Remuneration:
* Hourly Rate: $42 to $45 per hourplus super, inclusive of casual loading in lieu of leave entitlements.
