Position Information

Peak Hill Central School is located in the Central West of New South Wales and serves a rural community of approximately 1,000 people. The school sits between Dubbo and Parkes on the Newell Highway, on Wiradjuri country, with the Bogan River nearby. The school has about 130 students, 60 % of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and places a strong emphasis on embracing local Wiradjuri culture and language.

The campus boasts well‐maintained classrooms, state‐of‐the‐art trade training centres (Hospitality, Metals and Timber), a science laboratory, an indoor gym and dynamic outdoor learning spaces that include an agricultural farm. All classrooms are air‐conditioned, fitted with Smart Interactive TVs, and each student has access to laptops and multiple technology spaces.

Stage 6 students participate in the Western Access Program to achieve the Higher School Certificate, utilizing expertise from teachers across several sites, including Peak Hill, Yeoval, Trundle, Tottenham and Tullamore. The program incorporates innovative multi‐modal technologies and practical days to deliver high‐quality curriculum across a wide range of subjects.

The school staff consists of 20 teachers, 17 administrative and support staff, and an Aboriginal Education Officer. Peak Hill Central School is a 6‐point incentive school, attracting additional benefits for staff; subsidised teacher housing is available.

Remuneration: Total package valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and the employer's contribution to superannuation. Higher pay rates above the minimum are available based upon experience.
