About the role
Multiple casual roles at Mylor and Wirr ay Adventure Camps. The Kitchen Assistant is responsible for providing assistance in the preparation and serving of food and cleaning of the campsite kitchen under the direction of the Hospitality Coordinator and/or Cooks. The role requires an industrious person, passionate about food and hospitality, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering excellent results for guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of all meals as directed by the Hospitality Coordinator and/or Cooks.
- Assist with clean up after meals, including completing end-of-day and weekly cleaning checklists.
- Ensure safe food handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with other Baptist Care SA employees.

Skills and experience
- Certificate I in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or equivalent
- Prior experience is not essential, but experience in a commercial kitchen as a general kitchen hand or assistant is preferable
- Previous experience in a customer service environment
- Strong internal drive for maintaining a tidy and organised workspace, with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively to a schedule with energy and flexibility
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and risk management standards
