Position: Counsellor – Mindplace (Bupa)
We are looking for a qualified counsellor to join our Mindplace team in Newcastle. The role is based at 1.88 St. Michael's Way, Metrocentre, Gateshead, NE11 9YG. You will provide high‑quality counselling to Bupa customers, working both face‑to‑face and remotely as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Key Details
Hours: Part‑time (minimum 2 days per week, including Saturday) or full‑time on a hybrid basis. Location: Mindplace, Newcastle. Salary: Competitive with a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Provide counselling and brief interventions with excellent clinical outcomes.
* Deliver comprehensive assessments and evidence‑based formulations.
* Offer face‑to‑face sessions, remote presentations, workshops, and training.
* Adhere to Bupa's case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads.
* Provide signposting or onward referrals as needed.
* Conduct one‑off assessments and referral recommendations.
* Deliver group psycho‑education and promote mental wellbeing.
* Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa's service policies.
* Attend regular clinical supervision and team meetings.
* Collaborate with operational and clinical teams to improve client and employee experiences.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Chartered or registered with BACP, NCPS, or UKCP.
* 3+ years of full‑time post‑qualification counselling experience.
* Experience in clinical settings with multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
* Training in incident support.
* Corporate experience and business understanding.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
* Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
* Excellent diary management and time‑boundary maintenance.
* Experience managing caseloads and working towards individual targets.
* High standards in written and oral communication.
