The town is surrounded by quality wineries, National Parks, bushwalking trails aplenty, fishing and water skiing on the beautiful Lake Nillahcootie in your backyard, and the Murray River only an hour away. Melbourne is easily reached in two hours along the Hume Freeway and the Melbourne to Wodonga railway line also runs through the city. Benalla has that big country town feeling that makes for a relaxing family lifestyle in a supportive, welcoming community. Benalla P-12 College was established in January 2013 as a result of the merger of all four government schools in Benalla. In 2024 major capital works were completed, which endowed the secondary college with a new STEAM building, administration building and state of the art food technology teaching space. We have also invested in our grounds with landscaped areas, and plenty of space to develop for creative minds. The College has a student population of approximately 700 across our three campuses, 400 in the Primary years and 300 at Secondary. We provide a vibrant, stimulating teaching and learning environment that commences with Foundation and continues through the secondary years to VCE and VCE VM. Our students are part of our school family, nurtured and educated by committed teachers who watch them grow and develop right through their primary and secondary education. SC6 A commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others. Role Attendance during school vacation periods is not required for this position. The Integration Aide fulfils an important role with the responsibility for funded students. It is expected that they will provide a high level of customer service to the student body, staff, parents and visitors to the College, and be competent in the provision of up to date and relevant information. The Integration Aide position is required to work cooperatively with both internal and external clients and involves close interaction with a range of students and staff. It is important that the Integration Aide operates in a consistent, professional, courteous and efficient manner at all times. Responsibilities
* Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas
* Assist with the communication between students and teachers, particularly in clarifying instructions required to support the student in his/her learning.
* Provide basic physical and emotional care for students
* Participate in Student Support Group meetings to develop and implement strategies or modifications for student learning
* Attend sessions with Allied Health Professional as required
* Assist with the supervision of students in playgrounds, and on camps/excursions/sporting activities
* Assist in the preparation of student resources, equipment and curriculum support resources
* Set up and put away equipment and materials in support of teaching programs
* Observe students and draw the attention of the teacher where necessary
* Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programs and evaluation of individual student involvement and achievement.
* Have high expectations of all learners
* Be an advocate for students with additional needs
* Undertake flexible arrangements where required, to backfill for other ES staff who may be temporarily unavailable
* Wear protective clothing and equipment (including eye and ear protection) as required of students and staff in practical classes (eg Science or Woodwork)
* Ensure confidentiality of records are maintained
