The opportunity
Join Federation Council's team as our next Cleaner We're searching for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to help us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our facilities.
In this role, you'll be responsible for a variety of cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitising surfaces and kitchen areas. We're looking for someone who can manage their time effectively, work independently, and take pride in a job well done.

In this role you will:
* Provide a safe and hygienic environment for community and Council staff through carrying out efficient cleaning services.
* Perform all cleaning duties to the standards required.
* Washing and disinfecting all toilet areas including floors, basins, toilet pans and urinals.
* Ensure the safe and correct use/application of plant, equipment and Personal Protective Equipment/clothing (PPE)
* Consistently work in a safe manner and adhering to all Council WHS policies and procedures
* Maintain the security of facilities by ensuring that all windows and doors are locked prior to leaving the premises.
* Perform other tasks and duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications
Council's preferred candidate will ultimately possess a range of the following qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge.
* Demonstrated previous experience in relevant cleaning.
* Proven ability to work unsupervised and meet schedules and deadlines as well as being flexible to regularly work outside normal office hours.
* The ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment in a safe manner.
* Demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures as well as both written and verbal instructions
* Possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to complete forms and follow basic plans.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council's policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $34.38 per hour including casual loading.
