The role
Purpose of the role
The Compliance Manager helps to ensure that Youi meets its legal, regulatory, and industry requirements in a commercially effective way. The role involves managing obligations and alerts, supporting the Compliance Framework, undertaking compliance impact assessments and breach reporting, providing training and liaising with stakeholders. It also includes contributing to strategic initiatives, supporting executive reporting, and performing other compliance tasks as needed.
Key priorities
- Monitor, interpret and assign obligations and manage Youi's Obligations Register, process alerts and complete regulatory impact assessments and manage the process for compliance attestations.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of Youi's Compliance Management Framework and associated policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure an awareness and management of their obligations and providing quality and timely advice.
- Undertake compliance impact assessments and breach reporting.
- Promote a strong compliance culture.
- Support strategic compliance initiatives.
- Uphold Youi's values and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies.

Experience & Knowledge
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Business, Risk, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8 years' compliance experience in financial services, ideally with regulatory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks as applicable to a general insurer.
- Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management.
Ways of working
Youi offers a hybrid working model: Work from the office Tuesday to Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Location Options – Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley
This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office. If based in Brisbane, you'll be required to work from the Sippy Downs head office at least once a week.

- Fortitude Valley: Located on the vibrant James St and Ann St, just a short walk from the train station. You'll be close to Brisbane's top restaurants, bars, and shops, with excellent public transport connections.
